5th Annual DEMMO WARS at The Armed Forces Celebration at Fort Lewis Washington. May 15-16, 2004

Good Gentiles, war is upon us, the roar of those who would take our land is at hand, Hear the shouts of the eager hearted and the roar of savage battle.  Invaders are afoot mounted on their dragons, driving all before it. But what is this?  A small but growing legion of Celtic and Norsk defenders standing defiantly in its way, a heroic band standing between the invaders and our beloved Kingdom. Be ye friend/foe or neighbor (SCA or ROC), We invite you to join the fun and help us wage war and tone our fighting skills in this open to the public demo. This to be a Heavy/Light War and everyone is welcome -- Heavys, Lights, Archers, Rapiers Fighters, Bards, War Engineers, Artisans, Merchants, and more.  There will be loot and glory for all! Win War Points for your chosen side; participate in contests of all types, not to mention "surprise" competitions, games, and merriment. ARCHERY is limited to war archery only.

3nd Annual DEFENDER of the Stronghold Tourney.  Held during FREEDOM FEST at Fort Lewis Washington, July 4, 2003

Greetings all, Fort Lewis asked the Stronghold of Rath an Oir and the SCA to help celebrate the 4^th of July.  This is our fourth annual event and the stronghold is holding its third Champions Tourney for heavy fighters.  If enough rapier fighters attend we’ll have a champion tourney for you too. The day is filled with arts and science displays, tourney, demo fighting, opportunity for demonstrations of all sorts, and a great day of fun.   Bring your period tent, just be aware staking is limited to about 6” depth.  The Blatha an Oir Kazoo band is expected to herald in the evening, so bring your kazoo and join the band.  No site fee requested, and a strong possibility of a courtesy meal for all who attend.

Merchants are invited. There is a minimal fee of $15 and completion of a contract with the post.  Please contact this autocrat for more information and coordination.  Site is small so combined merchant activities are advised.

Access to the post is easy, when entering through the Dupont, Main or Logistics Gates there will be a MWR representatives with a list of Blatha an Oir names.  If you are not on the list, they will add your name and all will receive a special vehicle pass that will allow you to drive up to the site and park near by.  Event site is by the movie theater as in previous years. You can arrive on post as early as 8AM should you so desire.
